With HOPE...
Our Founder
“To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power.
Or the climbing falling colors of a rainbow.”
- Maya Angelou
When it comes to our mother, that sounds right. Since we were little it has always been just the three of us and our mom has been on her own, scraping together the bare minimum so that we could get what we needed or wanted. We believe that is where she embodies the next quote from the Bible, Proverbs 31:25: "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come." Because even though she struggled all those years, she still managed to put a smile on her face and fulfill the determined, compassionate, caring, God loving woman she modeled for us to be. We were blessed to be able to watch her grow, from working as a waitress and holding down three jobs to becoming a successful entrepreneur. One who has not only founded her own non-profit that cares for the community she was raised in, but one who also creates foundations for others to bring to life their passions of serving. In any spare time she may find she volunteers for other causes, domestically and internationally, bringing awareness to topics such as, human trafficking, ALS or suicide prevention. To watch her, is to show us what it means to grow despite all odds and how to find a way to help others regardless of our own situation. We knew from a young age that serving others was one of the biggest reasons we were put on this earth, and we knew that simply by watching her. Our mom inspires us, and others, to provide help to those in need and to understand that help can start off as something very simple as, providing hope. Proverbs 31:26 says "She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." That is, our mother and we, her daughters, understand that we are her why.
